Hi all, I know this will create anarchy but I do have a few questions as all of you own a Ford Puma.

I currently drive a Sportka and I've been told that the rear axel of a puma will fit my car. I plan on doing a simple brake upgrade and apparently both the front and rear brakes of a puma will fit my car.
The reason for this is that my car has drum brakes on the rear, and I would prefer disc's on all corners. I know that I will have to change the brake servo so the back end will not lock up, but I generally wanted to know if they would fit and whether I would need to change the wheel hubs or the whole axel etc?

Thanks, Nathan

The Puma has drum brakes on the rear as well.
It is only the FRP that has disc brakes on the rear.
The drum brakes work OK they must do I know a Puma turbo moster still running the drums on the rear.
As to what mods you would need to do can't say as am not familiar with the SportKA or that this has come up before.
I like the SportKA a nice tweak to the KA which I love.
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

most running gear of SportsKa is the same as Puma.
Early pumas had little rear drums (and 240mm vented front disk brakes)
later models had bigger rear drums (and 258mm front brakes)
I suppose your SportsKa have the same size as later Pumas, since they came after the Puma. (Well, at least the StreetKa is)
Mods I can recommend for you is Eibach springs to lower around 30mm or 40mm.
As for brakes, you have two options. Bigger front brakes and calipers from Fiesta ST (may be easy fit) Or still with the same diameter you have but go with EBC slotted disks and EBC green stuff pads. The braking power is awesome

After several Ka's, my wife had a SportKa from new for a couple of years. The brakes and handling were fine but the engine was unimpressive. Perhaps a Puma 1.7 engine transplant would be more beneficial ?.

Thanks for the reply's, the reason for wanting rear disc brakes is I'm turning my SportKA into a track car, and although drum brakes work really well, I know the benefits from having disc's as well as them making the car look more aggressive. May look into putting a puma lump into the car though, does need a lot more power.
