Right, success!!

We will be able to get the stainless steel front lower strut braces from Pumabuild, providing we can get some numbers put together.

The price would be £75 each, including delivery to normal UK addresses.

Availability mid-end August to be on the safe side.

I need commitment from people for this, not, "I might have one."

My intention is to have one made up and fitted at Pumabuild to take photos.

Post in this thread if you want one and I'll add you to the list:

I would like to add to this thread what a difference I have found the lower strut makes...I've got an OMP one, and the difference is amazing!!

Providing your gearbox mount and engine mount are ok its a quick job to fit smile.gif If there not then be prepared for some vibrations until you get new mounts sad.gif

Rick,

I am definately up for one so long as the clearance is a touch better than the OMP item. I believe you were going to check on this?

Yep, will post the photos when mine is done.
The guy making them has had the OMP problem explained to him and also had samples of the Pumabuild s/steel and OMP braces to compare.

I took my OMP one off at the weekend, the gearbox kept wacking it when going over speedbumps, so I will also wait and see what the clearance will be like

My original PumaBuild stainless lower strut brace has never once fouled anything (in many years of use now). So if they can make that template again you should be laughing smile.gif
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

That's not a problem, except that we need to know who's definately going to by one if the clearance is OK on my car.

There may only be one batch made, no guarantee of any more after that.

Not many showed positive interest, only 3, possibly 4 people, so will probably not be worth while being manufactured.

Will post pictures when fitted.

That's the second mistake I've made - Pumabuild.

He can probably get 2 made at the same time, but do you want to wait until you see the clearance pics?

Funnily enough, I was going to PM you to see if you wanted to come and see it fitted and have yours fitted at the same time?

So long as they reckon theirs have a touch more clearance, I will have one. The s/s should go nicely with my manifold!

I appreciate you have had to put some time into this, and am grateful for your help. Just a bit disappointing there wasn't more interest.

I think there will be more interest once people see it fits OK.

Anyway, they are now going to produce 2 units. I've reserved the other one for you to have first call, if you are happy with the fitment in the pics.

So at least we will have one each!

They are confirming back to me, but said it would only be a "few days". Once they call to say they are made, I'll be driving up there to have one fitted, check the clearance and take pics.
