Bit of an update...
Lack of power was due to accelerator peddle cable being a lot looser than my old car. I've tightened this up and it feels much better.
Noise wise.. just fitted a proper FRP air intake tube, but during the process, I've found that the little chamber that sticks out the side of the airbox (near where the intake tube goes) was missing.
I've made a temp fix until I can get a replacement - will see what it sounds like tomorrow..

Sounds like you don't have an FRP airbox fitted ... quite a few mods over the std unit ...

No - it's a frp air box, the air hose comes out the front rather than the back - but I suspect the previous owner (not mentioning names!) took it out and lost half the bits off it when he put it back.
