I went to look at this car yesterday and IMHO, its a dog
As far as I, unitiated in the ways of the FRP, can tell, the problems with it are:
All 4 alloys have significant kerbing and one of them has a quite serious ding in it.
The wheels look as though the lacquer is peeling off them - although to be fair they said they would refurb the wheels before it's sold.
One of the black plastic inserts in the head-rest part of the passenger seat is missing.
There's rust on the rear arches which has been painted over.
There's very little alcantara left on the steering wheel, it's not just dirty, it's gone.
It's been smoked in quite recently.
It has pieces of light-blue plastic bolted to the front wheel arches as improvised mud flaps
As mentioned earlier it has the tape instead of CD.
Finally, it may be something or nothing but when I lifted the carpet in the boot it was VERY damp underneath.
It's 11999 :rotflmao:
I asked for a test drive but was told they don't do test drives on a saturday cos there's only 2 of them working = can't be arsed.
It was actually quite sad to see it in such a neglected state

As has been said, they are resprayed because of stone chipping, so that could be why it looks so clean. If the front work has been done well, it's nothing to worry about. However, I'd steer clear if what Johne says is true though, there are plenty of good ones out there. So, good luck in finding one!
P.S. I hope someone pulls that spoiler off and throws it in the bin.

I'll check out the rear arches. I've looked closesly at the wheel and I'm sure it's just a build up of grime as it hasn't actually worn down any. The alloys, passenger seat and spoiler they said they would sort out for me (were I to buy it) and I'm working on discount currently - stands at 11,700 at the moment but I'm sure I can manage more. I didn't notice any dampness in the boot but I'll have another look at that since I'm going for an extended test drive in it tomorrow, which should highlight any problems.
I still haven't got my insurance payout so I can't buy it anway but it's all good research

Well I've just got back from my second drive in FRP 305 and I have to day it drives very well, everything felt tight but I've decided not to put money on it as there are too many things that need sorting out. The list is as follows:
New plastic insert in passenger seat
Refurbish Alloys
Remove spoiler or new bootlid
New bolt and plastic cap on right hand wiper
Rust on Rear arches treated
New Ford racing mats (as it only has stndard puma ones)
FRP supplement missing
The dealership were prepared to sort all of these things out and drop £300 on the screen price (11999) but the biggest thing was that after the drive we noticed the back seat was soaked so it's definitely letting the water in somewhere. The boot was wet also
Although I was assured these things could be sorted out before I took possession of the car I said that I felt it was overpriced given this list, and the claim they have another dealer who'll buy it as seen for 11250
So I've left things as they are but if anybody knows of a more standard FRP at a better price I'd be interested
Oh and thanks to everyone for their help

what about v4 frp
are you sure it's not a leaking boot seal or that they had opened the boot when it had rained and all the water ran in like it does on any puma

You'd better talk to Mattyp right away. His car is for sale and very well looked after.

Nothing wrong with buying a ragged FRP as long as you know how to bring it back up to scratch and that you get it at the right price...
You tend to get what you pay for... the exception being dealer prices!
Hope #305 goes to a good home and is returned to it's former glory
