Am a little far away from that area so I wouldnt know what the area is like If I am to organize a meet there. Also unfamiliar with the area so most prob a meet will just be based on the map +GPS or Compass (kinda like in the army). I am planning to organize this during JULY but there is the ford fair and the germany 10th anniversay I think and I think most people will have gotten tired of meeting every weekend. So i think I will have to look at what the response is on here...

If response is good for July, most prob will be during July... could someone / anyone in Yorkshire confirm the route and stop points I listed??? (just a drive past visual check that the area is good would do) Thank you in advance.

Purpose of organizing a meet there is

1) I think it is not too far for the people down south and also not too far for me as well
2) More people from up North might be able to join (very lonely for me to drive down alone to the meets in the south sad.gif )

Think these are good reasons for a meet there?

Awaiting your decisions PPers.

Hi Elvin

from past experience organising meets, what you'll probably find is... no matter what weekend you choose, someone will be doing something else wink.gif

So - pick a date you like the look of, and post it up!

Having said that, there are a few weekends that you should probably avoid.... I found these ones with a quick hunt round the site!

w/e of July 7th is Castle Combe
w/e of July 14th is the 10th Anniversary meet at the Nurburgring
w/e of July 22nd is the Blue Oval rally at Gaydon
w/e of Aug 4th is Ford Fair

There may be more meets already organised, I'm not sure....

Something else to ponder is how busy roads will be - it's deffo better doing meets when the schools aren't on holiday wink.gif

Tho I'm now Manchester, I grew up in this area! Beverley town centre is a bit of a drag but has its advantages (burgess ice cream - yummie!!), and the outer roads have ever plunging speed limits. Beware the cops too, particularly if you hit the bypasses. The road from Market Weighton down to South Cave is terrific. There may be a bit of a tractor problem around bishop burton. Looks like a lot of fun tho - may even grace it myself!

Ooh as I have said before I would be up for a northern meet. It would be good to put faces to usernames. Don't forget us with 1.4s though as they've only got little legs! laugh.gif

I think you'll find the 1.4s will hold their own just fine!

most prob because we cannot go very fast as Spleen described earlier about the cops and stuff.

Or maybe because they are actually pretty quick! We don't have the traction control to slow us down. laugh.gif

Just to clarify - wink.gif - the cops at the bypasses sit at the speed change points. Like where the dual carriageway becomes single lane therefore goes from 70 to 60 but remains de-restricted. The SWINES!!! I would never condone or recommend speeding at all, not that theres a crown of thorns on my head or anything as her madge's merseyside mob will attest to smile.gif
