Saw the report on the news this morning, couldn't stop laughing when these two teenage chavs were being interviewed, it was like an audience with Frogmella and Vicky Pollard. Their parents must be so proud. 1112202173.gif

What's so bad about parents just saying no? I know there is probably a bit more advertising that when I was a kid, wanting all the latest toys, but if I wanted too much, my parents put their foot down and said I couldn't have it.

Same with the junk food advertising. I used to pester my parents to take me to Maccy D's but I don't think they ever took me.

It's so easy for parent to pass the blame onto the big companies these days. If parents don't want their kids to be influenced by ads so much, don't have them sitting in front of hte TV from the minute they get in from school to the minute they go to bed.

Ours often hear the 'no' reply.

They don't question our decision, thay know it's a waste of time to nag or call our bluff.

The oldest once complained about the meal we were making. He was given bread and water, he's not moaned since.
( we did give him the original meal eventually, once he apoligised).

I listened to another parent talking of a new mobile phone for her 13 year old a Viewty, which is over twice what I would spend on a phone. Our son has a normal £50 model, he doesn't complain. He knows not to.

no no no, it is not the poor parents who are at fault but the media and the school system and the immigrant spongers and anyone different from us muiddle class people.

And anyone who disagrees is a wooly minded liberal from the PC brigade or a NAzi or a Communist!

Parents are no match for the idiot lantern! blink.gif

no one factor is soley to blame. its a mixture of parenting/upbringing, media, peer pressure, personailty of child, money etc the list goes on.

No the Lizard People who live in the centre of the Earth are to blame, they have been there since the dinosaurs, evolved from them in fact at the same time humans evolved from monkeys but they chose to live underground and wield their malevalent influence over an unsuspecting human race!

I never used to get what i wanted as a kid, my parents were pretty strict, making up for it now thou, i have everything i want paid for by myself though, I know what your saying, i have a cousin who basically said i want and he basically got. it has done him no harm though as he is a real nice lad, he has his own house a job and does not ask anyone for anything biggrin.gif
