Has anyone else had trouble removing the 6006e head unit? I'm trying to fit a new stereo and the bl**dy old one won't come out. I've been really pulling on the removal keys - so much so I've dints in my fingers from them.

Any handy tips before I take it to someone to sort tomorrow? Except using a crow bar?

Sorted. Took it to the nice people at B&H Electronics in Bury. For £20 he removed the carp Ford 6006e head unit, fitted the new Sony unit and supplied some leads. Minimum fuss, nice people. Unlike Halfords who were so worried that they weren't covered to install it as I didn't buy it from them.

Wierd from Halfords given they have a fitting service which I've used in the past...

Having worked for Halfords, i would have done it for £10!! wink.gif

How to: Give the old one a yank (with prongs!), prep new one, connect, slide in, install and DONE!
