I was talking to Tony @ Pumaspeed today... he was saying that an FRP runs the same with or without a CAT and there are no power gains either way...

BUT... he says he's seen a few FRPs lately where the CAT has been severely worn... hence recommends having a decat pipe and then fitting the CAT for MOT... only a 10 minute job...

Well in my case the cat had been bashed a few too many times, and was actually slightly bent and pushing the rest of the pipe down. We decided the best plan was to replace it with a decat pipe, and keep in nice and safe for MOT time.

I can confirm that there isn't much restriction in the FRP cat, so doubt you would get any power gains.

So am I right in thinking that the centre section of the FRP exhaust (that's £450) comes with a new CAT... ???

Would assume so, otherwise it's a very expensive pipe!
