Does anyone know or want to come and weld two plates under my roll cage back stays? Local industry is rude and useless. Needs to be done near Bath! Also needs to be done asap!
Thanks Stuart

How urgent ?
I might be able to do it in a few days. During the day would be better.
Are you in Bath ?

Have you made the plates up for under the cage legs?
I presume its just turn up and weld?
I'm in Melksham so not too far from Bath.

I have got the plates just need to drill holes and weld. I have a company from Hallatrow near Paulton coming to look this week. Maybe they can do it during the day. I will let you know? They are wanting £150 min. Sounds a bit expensive but are coded and such like!
Have you done cage welding before?
Thanks Stuart

My welding is more MIG at home to put the car back together again
I will post on TT now about the welding though, £150 sounds very steep to me.

If it's a straight forward welding job inside the car and not lying on his back trying to weld rust to good metal..
It shouldn't be expensive... Less than a ton I would hope.

Are u gonna weld some nuts to a fixing plate, then drill out for the plate and nuts to sit on wing with the. nuts facing down, then weld the plate on? So u have given ur self a solid fixing base to bolt cage to?
Or are you just welding the cage straight in?I wouldn't mind doing the job for noyhing if i could take some sizes of cage ?? I wanna make my own

You do realise he is bringing the kit and TIG welding the plate in! The other plates were TIG welded in so want to keep it the same. I don't have the kit or skills to TIG weld.
It is just a flat 3 mm plate welded to the wheel arch. This is all the regulations state. Bolting through it and the wheel arch with standard 8.8 bolt and nut is all that is required in that area of the cage.

My set is more a DIY one so pretty portable, and I use Pub Gas so the bottle isn't too big.
