well i had a patch of rust by the drivers door since i brought it about a month ago. well to day i thought i would do something about it... and found more rust in the process...

as you can see I pulled the seal back and found lots of nasty rust sad.gif seal is shagged aswell so ive gotta get myself a new one.

tapped the worse out with a hammer, then wirebushed it with a drill bit...

then filed it off with a grinding stone in the drill. as you can see from the next picture i had to stop... holes started to appear!!!!!!!!!!

anyway... cleaned it off and put some hammerite kurust on and applied four layers- one ever hour.

this will keep it "save" until i can get it booked with with my sisters boyfriend to be sprayed.

i do have a BIG feeling what has coursed this...

when i brought the car the drivers side electric window wasn't working (took all of 5 mins to fix!!)... so there was a slight gap in the window.... hence water has got in there and ran down i suspect sad.gif the previous owner came across like it had been like that for some time sad.gif

not rust I have seen before but if the water was constantly (after raining) dripping down the door vents (on the door bottom) and then wind blowing it up the seal edge along the sill perhaps this is the result sad.gif

Rust + Ford is standard.

My Puma came from the factory with a patch on the door, and that was in 1998!

Not much. Unless the rust stars on the inside and works out, the anti perforation warranty is worthless. Proving the tin worm goes that way instead of outside in is virtually impossible.

Hence why most anti perforation warranties are worthless.

because you have a black puma you could always just treat it now (will "hardly" show) and wait till you can get it sprayed... just an idea.
