Hi All,

The alarm on my FRP keeps periodically going off and I need a way of fixing it either permentantly or temporary.

The door open light flickers on/off sometimes when Im driving and I have narrowed it down to being caused by the bonnet.

So Im guessing that the latch/sensor for the bonnet is loose and when wind gets under the bonnet it sets the alarm off.

Any help would be greatly appericated.

Cheers
Dez

How about you check and clean the bonnet switch, maybe it is just corrosion on the contact plates that prevents to properly close the circuit. It is located next to the catch and usually has a rubber cap on. It is held in place by spring clips on the sides. If you can manage to open it (it's not that hard) you can also clean it on the inside. It is a pretty basic switch and should not break easily. The switch also should not be that expensive to replace it with a new one if cleaning does not resolve the issue.
For a quick temporary fix you can disconnect the switch and bridge the plug with a wire so that the bonnet is "always closed".
