The move from 238mm to 258mm happened about the same time as the move to nine-spokes, i.e. W-reg. (Our 2000/W has the larger brakes.) As an X-reg you probably have the 258mm, but you should still check as there are a number of reasons you might not (production changes weren't uniform, a previous owner might have fitted different brakes...)

Edit: Is that Puma Black or a black Puma? Puma Black I'm almost certain had the larger 258mm brakes fitted.

My Black has the larger brakes yours should too, stop being lazy and put a tape measure across the discs tongue.gif

The 2000 spec onwards had them and as the Blacks were only made from 2000 then it will have them 10.gif

You must be doing so heavy braking if you think they're rubbish though, have you checked how worn down your discs and pads are and if you've got plenty of brake fluid ja_stupid.gif

I didnt say anything about the brakes being rubbish......

Basically the ones on there are warped and oopsed to pieces so on braking i get heavy vibrating in the steering wheel!

I want uprated discs and pads as i like the old heavy driving style now and then smile.gif

Also i went and took the wheel off and measured the disc it was 258mm thanks smile.gif

if you do get "performance" discs dont get drilled and grooved as the holes make them crack easy, just grooves on their own seem to be ok though 10.gif

Try a Hispec brake kit. With 15" rims max. 280 mm discs.
