Excuse the handbrake cable, missing body parts, lack of variety and the fact my hat doesn't fit

Too wet to have too much fun, I hate having to concentrate.

Also going to get bigger wheels and paint it so it looks as good as Al's track car :roflmao:

Bigger wheels might compromise your handling?
Luminous yellow would look cool with your graphics already there could realy pick up the WR logo :D

Probably going to go to larger discs, running 285s under the 15s and its over heating even pads like a DS3000 which should be fine in that weight of car.

Nothing too drastic, probably just a 16.

Current wheel/tyre combo is massively heavy as well so if I go for a lighter rim and tyre it shouldn't affect unsprung mass too much.

Not really, doesn't really do much because I've got the bias wind right back because it was a bit too unstable.

I don't as I bashed my nose on the dash when I tried to learn too
Only wondered if you did as your brakes get hot.
I changed my brake fluid, I love SRF but too expensive, currently running with a Millers dot 5.1 and so far it has not given fade, but we probably drive quite different.

looking good ian, i basically dont bother if its wet, my car is rubbish in the wet as its so hard and set up for the dry. it feels like driving a bloody drift car as soon as its wet.

ive got the et35 mondeo wheels on mine, i dont think they compromise anything over the 15 inch props i had on, only a bit heavier. ive got 205 tyres fitted too.

only thing is i would say is that its a hard tyre size to get and the cheapest ive found toyo 888's etc is around £160 each hence why i still use bloody paradas, great in the dry on track, they really do grip amazingly. but unbelieveably bad in damp/wet.

i run the mondeo calipers and 300mm focus discs with braided lines and 5.1 brake fluid and they are brilliant for what they are. after using standard mintex pads they were starting to glaze quite quickly so for brands the other week i invested in some new EBC redstuff pads but the new ceramic ones and ive gotta say they were brilliant, could definitely feel the car brakeing stronger and they didnt even feel like fadeing one bit and i was stamping on them pretty hard at druids. about £70 for the pads.

will have to get a day booked with you next year, probably not going to do one till at least march or april as want to get a few bits sorted like trying to get more than bloody 135 bhp grrr. lol.

p.s, thanks about the car looking good .

They're not glazing or fading, they're wearing funny, don't have a pic but they're basically ending up wedge shaped.

Need to strip down to check next few days so I'll get something in my project thread but I talked to Hi Spec about it and he basically said those are the best pads for that application and its definitely a heat issue.

Next time out is Knockhill 4th Feb and probably a Cadwell after that. I'll get something up on here about the both nearer the time.

strange, sounds like a caliper problem too me?

you should come play at brands or maybe snetterton which is about 2 hours from me, cadwell is just too far, done it twice but 4 1/2 hours each way not knowing if ill be getting towed back is a bit too much.

Yeah just had the calipers refurbed for that reason but they're still doing it.

He said because the top is hotter they wear more there.

Apparently you can get calipers with different sized pistons with that in mind, which I'll look in to if its killing pads too quickly, gave £140 for the Ferodos and I don't fancy doing that every two events.
