Just been told by a mate who works for Ford that they are considering making a new Puma - due to so many requests for its return!

Nothing has been confirmed or designed but it would be a few years away...

I think Ford unveiled the Reflex at Detroit last year. The press hailed it as the new Puma.
More info in this thread.

If the Reflex is the new Puma, I WANT ONE, NOW!

but only with a 2 litre petrol power unit or bigger and at least 200bhp...though even if it arrived tomorrow, my FRP would always be the car of choice...she is so luverly!! biggrin.gif

One of the best points of the Puma is that it was affordable. if the new one is the Reflex, it might be a wee bit on the expensive side.

My cynical Photoshop of how it'll probably end up... an amalgam of Fiesta and Focus with a Puma-esque stance...

Hmm, seeing as I nicked all the bits off Ford I don't think that would be wise.

Here's where I started from dry.gif

I don't want to go against the grain or anything, but I think that thing looks absolutely foul puke.gif

It is so garish and American. I mean suicide butterfly doors, that will be easy in Tesco's car park! It looks far too muscular for me, any new Puma should be graceful looking.

Also the front end is too high, the chrome wheel are awful, the grille looks like a toaster and see through seats!? I prefer BOK's interpretation.

Looks nice except the lower bumper treatment is a bit messy. Looks very Aston in fact, quite large and more like £30k of car rather than £20k...

Bring back the Capri- straightforward rear wheel drive, in the same vein as the E36 3 series coupé...having said that, there probably no market like a car for that now- far more important that 2 sets of golf clubs fit in the boot than anything else.

Agree with BOK. Definitely Aston V8 inspired somewhere down the line - which is no bad thing. Much better looking than that Reflex rubbish as well. But yeah, bet it won't be affordable.
