I was watching the ITV news and they had coverage of Bush saying that the US was against the human rights violations that the Chinese government commits.

This is the man who ultimately sanctioned Guantanamo detention centre?

He and Brown also castigated Zimbabwe for its dodgy elections but the Scottish elections were incompetently at best, illegaly at worst bungled as it was too confusing for stupid people to understand.

And the 1st Bush term was on the back of dodginess in Florida.

Who on earth are we to go around greeting about others? Dont cut your forrests cos we already did ours. Dont use coal fired power stations cos we did and nopw they are bad.

Dont buy cars, use bikes etc etc.

Dont have nuclear weapons cos only we are good enough to have them. No wonder half the world hates us! excl.gif

I hate us too. We should be recognising and concentrating on our own problems before we try to sort out the rest of of world. People in power seem to have an inverse Empire mentality in that they want to distance themselves from the Britain that took over most of the world. But they go to far the other way. We are just a small country with a large population and that gives us many problems of our own, without trying to heal the world as well.

What was wrong with Empire?

Sorry, but each and every one of us in the country would still be pissing about in cottage industries if we hadn't plundered the rest of the world.

People should stop apologising for the fact that we had an Empire. Get over it, or go back and live in your cave.

You ever thought of running for Government. 10.gif

We could send a few families of people we trafficked around the back too, If they are that worried about it.

I never said there was anything wrong with it. We have a long history filled with the very good and the very bad but right now we are an over-crowded, tiny piece of real estate that doesn't need to get involved with international politics. Mind you, I'm an idiot, so don't ask me.

I don't think they'll be setting any new World Records over there, not with the pollution and all that wink.gif

Would rather stay here and watch it in the clean air.

Gotta sat I disagree entirely.

We have a duty to criticise China, or Zimbabwe, or Iraq, or the US for their failiing; just as they have to duty to highlight our forthcomings.

so if s big fat person went past smoking, drinking and with his 13 year old pregnant girlfriend on his arm and he suggested you repark your car as it was slightly over a line or that you looked a bit pudgy or that smoking was bad for you you would go, "hmm good point well made" huh.gif

I'd like to hope so!

That's certainly how it should work, although whether in real life I would do is another matter.
