hi guys. as i bought this car from this forum i thought id put a little thread up about my ford puma race car , it will be raced on short circuit ovals , the formula is called ''hot fords'',

which is any fwd ford but they must run the 1.6cvh carb engine, no injection allowed and must remain standard(ish)

anyway here are some pics

the strip down

the cage ( i could have had more bars but we need to keep the weight down, so the cage has been built to minimum requirements

for those of you that are not clued up on short circuit oval racing , the white roof is not something ive done though choice,

you have to start in graded order and this is done by roof colour,
white being the beginners section, then up to yellow, on to blue, then red , and finally superstar (gold/silver)

Is that cage your own design or are you give plans for that? Looks different to the normal Custom Cages type multipoint stuff.

it was made for me, oval racing has a guideline for minimum cage spec, it has been built to that spec, with a view of keeping weight down put safety high in priority too

Sounds really interesting :D
Do you expect there to be contact racing as in bashing side to side?

The CVH was fitted in Tiggr but then a turbo added, and the engine needed lots of TLC.
I think this is the engine bay, you are the only other one I recall with a CVH fitted, though memory gets rusty ;)

Also the heavier weight of that engine the member commented it shagged the Puma front suspension. Bet you have some wicked suspension planned anyway :D

the car is looking a bit sorry for it self now, quite a lot of dents and scratches etc,

won my first heat and then the final , was upgraded to a blue roof, have still managed to finish in the points so not doing to bad , and the car is getting better every race ,

bit more development and i think we will be pretty much on the pace

What engine might you run in the second one?
Hope this season goes as well:-)
