N/S/F Brake pipe corroded
Rear brake pipe corroded

Parts not expensive but labour to make and fit

n/s excessive corrosion and hole in rear inner sill
o/s excessive corrosion and hole in rear inner sill

Loads

n/s top strut mounts worn + seized
o/s top strut mounts worn + seized

Strut bearing not expensive but needs the struts off to fit

n/s drop link worn

Cheap

n/s bottom ball joint worn

Cheap but a bit more work

both front suspension arm rear bushes displaced

Same as above, wishbone would fix both

rear axle trailins arm bushes worn

Needs a press

n/s/f brake bind possible caliper

Or pipes or slider pins, guesswork

both front brake discs and pads required

Easy

Welding is the worst news, you're looking £500 retail for that list all done, depends who you can get to sort.

What colour is it? I've got four Magnum Thunders currently, one needing a water pump, one needing a clutch, one needing welding and the other which was the best I'm using daily and adding to the 208k mileage :)

If you were to spend too repair it how would that compare to spending too change it?

I think I would rather keep the puma I've got than get another. I don't see me keeping it more than 2 years. But I want to save it so I think I'm going to just get the repairs done, keep it for a year. The other dilemma I have is what do I do next do I use my Racing Puma everyday or take finance out on a newer car ?

Hello,

What is the overall condition and mileage on the car?

We've had some hefty repair bills on our cars at the beginning to get them back up together after previous owners had let them go a bit but I look at it this way, ours are in overall good condition with lowish mileage so a £500 bill every year and then trouble free motoring for another 12 months in cars we love is far more economical motoring than buying something else. Although the bills and repairs quickly become much less once the work is done Posted Image I drive 21k miles a year in my little green one so I expect to have to keep it maintained but it hasn't let me down yet unlike other newer cars I frequently see waiting at the side of the roads for breakdown trucks. Same said for my daughter's although she does less miles.

As for your FRP - it's there to be driven so you could repair the other and drive each on alternate days, whatever, but makes no financial sense taking up loans when you already have 2 cracking cars at your disposal.

I also have a thunder in magnum grey, looking at the positives, there are not many around and considering the limited edition models are becoming rarer, I was also faced with the decision to buy another puma or take the repair bill hit. I took the hit and got her fixed. I will do around 4 -5 thousand miles a year. I based my decision on the fact that the engine has been well maintained and is very strong, and compared to other puma's I've looked at buying was better to repair. Good luck with it, hope you are fixing.

I had a similar list for repairs plus fuel tank and fuel pump.
