Ok, hands up......total Newb here!

I live right opposite a Ford dealer which I've hardly noticed before with all the EuroBox heaps of cr*p on the forecourt including the God awful Fusions which my parents were stupid enough to buy.
Two weeks ago a bog standard 1.7 Y reg Puma turned up on the forecourt and now I find myself mesmerised with it.
I've been doing a bit of scouring on Autotrader and I've fallen in love with the Thunder edition (mainly because the interior doesn't look like a Ford). I've tracked down three Thunders for between £7000 and £8700 and will hopefully be getting a test drive in one soon.
Any hints or tips on what to look out for?

Welcome to the site, check out the buyers guide on this site from the link below.

http://www.pumapeople.com/cms_articles.php?cid=2

Thunders came in 2 colours moondust silver and magnum grey, a 1000 were made in each colour, they had a 6 cd changer, leather seats and cool 15 spoke alloy wheels, electric mirrors, heated mirrors and front screen.
They came with aircon all as standard and all had 1.7 engines.

Make sure it has all the above features, some thunders had passenger airbags and some did not.

Look for full service history, condition of interior leather would be a big factor for me if i was buying a thunder.
I would tend to look for a lower milage and would get a full HPI check done if it was a private sale.
If i was buying from a dealer i would insist they do a HPI check in front of me, most good dealers are hooked up to the HPI checker anyway so this should not pose a problem.
If buying from a dealer try to get some type of warranty from them

Best advice this time of year is to haggle prices with sellers and be prepared to walk away, take your time as there will always be another one come up (Don't rush).

Good luck

Are the ThunderCats numbered like the other limited edition cats?

Does anyone know of any Magnum grey ones for sale with between 20-30k on the clock?

No, cos they are "Special edition", not "Limited Edition" Hence no number.

The Thunder was only a special edition with all the toys on it to sell the last of the manufacturing run - a marketing ploy that I was happy to take advantage of.

Someone stole my Thunder...

I can't seem to find a decent Thunder around here. Do I wait to see if one turns up or get a normal one and spend about a grand putting new seats and stereo in?!

I'm on autotrader daily. At the moment I live in Oxford but I'm moving to Birmingham in a few months. I'll travel as far up at Leeds and probably as south west as weymouth.
