The throttle body is a standard 1.7 one 'beautifully' modified so bolts straight on. The trusty dremels came out of retirement and done the job

Surely you haven't got an exact 55mm all the way thru then?
Manifold is easier to do i reckon

No sorry just the manifold was done by myself with the dremel. The throttle body was professionally made by an engineer and is absolutely spot on.

Very very cheap as it was the first one to be done so i'm the guinea pig as they say. I paid £50 for the work to be done and he supplied the throttle body. Normal 1.7 pumas will undoubtedly notice a huge difference over standard. I ran the enlarge throttle body for 2 weeks there and notice alot better throttle response and was told by the engineer that the real gains will not be made until the inlet is taken out to match the t/b. So couple of nights ago i started to strip down the car in order to get the inlet manifold out(you know drivers side light out, aux belt, alternator off, front grill, drivers wheel, then inlet etc). Got manifold out and machined on bench for bout 3-4 hours, damn those dremels. Cut gasket to suit then put back together. The performance actually throws you back in the seat which i'm sure few puma owners have experience in theirs.

Don't think that would mate to 1.7 zetec head, never heard of that mod. Any 1700 would notice a huge difference on standard.

There is a simple reason for that that you TB is letting in as much air at half throttle as it used to do at full throttle. HOWEVER, it does not mean you car is any quicker or that you ahve anymore power at full throttle. Unless you recalibrate the MAF the ECU will not know you are getting more air at full throttle anyway. It is likely that when you are generating less power at full throttle than you used to because you will not be getting any extra fuel to go with the air. The engine will still only use as much air as it needs regardless of how much you give it. Unless you help it to use/burn more air (mapping, cams, sensor calibration etc) you will gain nothing.
If it's not sideways, it's not my way

I have been sworn to secrecy and will contact him on email if I can give out his details. He done that one for me as abit of a one off and said if he did it again it would be alot more like £100, which is well worth it. He did point out that when I bought it I would have to port the manifold to suit before I would get full benefit, and boy was he right.

The car is going to get unichipped as soon as funds allow, but just bought a house a few days ago so cash will be abit tight to get pass missis the now. I will get car rolling roaded before and after chip. I've chose to unichip the car as it will be properly mapped fuel air ratio thus allowing to get full benefit of t/b, rather than a generic bluefin map.
