I wonder how many complaints are genuine and how many are people trying to jump on the bandwagon in case there is some compo on offer in due course?

Maybe I am just cynical!

tbh I always use Morrisons as they are near and the cheapest around here. I have never had any trouble with supermarket fuel. However I will give them a miss for the time being biggrin.gif

Suspect it is not down to just being supermarket fuel as this near us in Sth Staffs is no cheaper than main brand. Seems contaminants got in the fuel somehow or other so could in theory have affected any brand. Tesco seems to feature in the articles but this may due to the volume of fuel they sell as a % of the total ? Be interesting to know who refines which supermarket fuel !

Always have up to now.

As it happens the local Tesco has been so busy that I've taken to going to the equidistant BP and buying their cooking. The extra penny per litre hardly being significant in the scheme of things.

There does seem to be some muddled thinking going on in this thread though - people proudly boasting they buy the high octane fuels as if they are somehow 'better' and so less likely to be contaminated.

Don't forget it is the same as the base as the 94 / 95 RON, just with more stuff in it and so if the regular stands a chance of being contaminated, the 98-99 has a higher likelihood.

It is reported that Tesco and Morrison in that area are supplied by a wholesaler called Greenergy.

Which of the majors Greenergy get their supplies from is the next question.

We had this prob with a Tesco station 3 or 4 years ago and it messed up my hubby's car. Since then we have always used non supermarket stations. Not worth the risk and expense!

I'd guess anybody here from the South who has the slightest problem with their hego sensor or similar (and there's generally one or two a day by my observation) had better lay their hands on a Tesco or Morrison receipt pretty sharpish. I'd guess there will be some useful compensation going.

How long until the receipts start appearing on e-Bay?

It's perhaps, what, 2p less a litre than some posh stuff that's advertised by a tiger walking down a motorway?

Where do we think the 2p extra per litre goes, boys and girls.....?
