Ghosts - Nre Projecyt NSFW

Proof of concept image for a piece of work I've started on.

1 chair

6 models

and a lot of holding the tripod steady and not moving the chair!

Even so, I noticed movement in the images caused by the movement of the mirror in the body. Something I could have resolved if I'd worked out how to use the mirror lock function on the 900 before the shoot ( never go to a shoot when you dont know how your new toy works wink.gif )

Still needs tweaking before I start on the other 5 model images, and the pose here was test, not final one.

very interesting idea, which of course is helped by your subject of course (and of course I don't mean the chair laugh.gif) smile.gif

I'll wait to see the finished ones before making too many comments though.

Having a real game getting the ghosting to work as I want it to.

But love the camera to bits biggrin.gif

I'm not sure if you mean the same thing as I was going to comment on but I was going to mention (if I can use the correct words lol) how the chair is showing in relation to your ghost, and the lighting of it. seems a bit distracting around her upper body and neck, but almost invisible toards the bottom right of the back.

Glad to hear you are having fun with the camera though smile.gif

Aye - know what you mean.

The chair was quite old, and the varnish had rubbed off the back. I've already taken a lot out of the "heat" from the chair. Will do more and re test.

Ta for the critiq smile.gif

Nice idea, Matt, but to me the chair back is too well lit and as there is nothing behind the head it looks solid compared to the body. Or maybe that was intentional?

Cant give too much abut the final image away, but the theme is the chair, not the models. Hence why a slightly awkward look.

The original top image for this is much better, without the ghosting, but thats not why the series was created smile.gif

Then I can't wait to see the final image!

p.s. Criticism of your images has to be harsh as you set such a high standard.

Needs more "space" above the head, and as I said, its not the photo that will be part of the final image, but i really like this version

You are making me blush tongue.gif

But i do prefer criticsm ( positive - no point in shouting something down for the sake of it ) to people just saying "its a great shot"

And standards are set for me because I dont like seeing crap work, esp if the photographer supposedly knows what they are doing and charges for it...

Add to that that I have to keep the model sweet, and creating substandard work will only cause me grief wink.gif

The highlights look a bit harsh in that image, but not in the original. It is a beautiful, gentle shot though (and yes, that does include the model!).

Personal preference for the highlights, as it was not intended as a published photo smile.gif

sorry matt i somewhat agree with mikey. the lighting of the 'inner' chair seems too bright for the shade of jessie, unless, it's all new, super hero, radioactive jessie, which unfortunately i dont think it is!!

Please, dont apologise smile.gif

I'd rather know what people think than not biggrin.gif

As I said, personally, I prefer the harshness of the tones. The finished 7 image print will not be so abrupt, primarily because its for public consumption, and "my style" is not what I am showing, but the creativity of the image is smile.gif

No problem. I'm trying to make more time for critiquing stuff and making an attempt to put some contribution into photosig thining about peoples comments about critiquing others' work can help your own too by looking at the images more etc.

Just wait till you see some of the wedding photos I'll take at my sister's wedding. that should give people a laugh laugh.gif

Seeing other people's work on here is always good as it helps to spur me on to improve myself even if I may not reach the standards set by others.

Paul,

Thats spot on - critiqing others can only improve your own work - makes you stop and think smile.gif

That happened to me earlier!

Wouldnt have minded but it was the ghost image as I was looking for help ( as you know ) and had typed rather a long comment on it. pressed final submit and boom! the error message arrived.

damn, sorry to hear that. I get the error message but was able to click the back button, then refresh the revious page to get to my comment (not huge but I didn't want to type it again). I then just copied and pasted the comment into notepad (something I often do on webpages when submitting long items of text, just in case)
