Thought i just post up a little piccy, as iv'e recently done bushes on a couple of cars..including vas' fiesta...both of which had seemingly passed an MOT ...lol

as you can see from this picture, the bush is completly knackered and has not only degraded but seperated from it's own casing...

when on the car the wear is a lot less obvious and you can only see a 'crack line' of seperation of the bush....and doesn't look too bad, hence it not failing...

when removed from the car, after a bit of wiggling around, its soon pretty obvious how bad the wear is....

SO... if you see any hairline cracking around the bush casing, get them changed... it makes a world of difference to the way the car feels and drives... :good: :good:

Regards

Chris

Yes I think my Puma was mot tested by a child who was blindfolded.....
First car, 1.0 106 (slow), 2nd VW 1.4 Polo (slower), 3rd Fiat Punto (brand new but 'stolen'), 4th Saxo VTS (chavvy), 5th Subaru Impreza Turbo (expensive - 16mpg), 6th Fiat Bravo HGT (rubbish), 7th Ford Mondeo (boring), 8th Ford Focus (average) and finally Ford Puma - have I finally found my ideal car?!

Just done rear Beam bushes on 12yr old car - similar story. Cannot believe the car got MOT previous last couple of years...

Car is totally transformed..! Get them done - the rewards are huge.

Got Bushes from Fiesta Centre (in Norfolk) - cheaper (better) alternative to Powerflex and not quite as stiff...

yep, you need a press mate...

To fit a rear beam bush is a whole different story...you need a specific kit or take off the rear beam and stand it in a press.... big job!..

PM me if you want them fitting... B)

No I used a 5 ton press ;)
The bolts are 10.8 Tensile rating metric fine, which came with the ball joints.
