I have spoken to DoubleG who thinks he can make these around £350 per piece. For that price we would need 10 people to commit. If we can get any more people the price would go down. That price is for a carbon fibre with a clear gel coat.

GG has told me they would look identical to the OE item and would certainly save a few kilos. Also, no more stone chipping to worry about!

At this stage I am looking for people who would send me £100 deposit to secure their place on the first batch.

Thanks.

I think you'll find that the clear gel coat will still chip :/

Nice to see this has progressed to a group buy. How long before the orders get placed or does that depend on how many there are...

Reluctant to pay £350 for something I can't see ohmy.gif

Not so much an issue on a race car but finish is important on something for the road.

I'm not saying the one on offer will be of poor fit/quality but there is no reassurance that it isn't either.

I'll be the first to regret it if the final product is mint though. I badly want one- long before most of you even had a Puma bleh.gif

Any idea of realistic timescales? You can accrue a fair bit of interest off £1000+ tongue.gif

Yep at 7% after 12 months I would have amassed the sum of £70. Hardly life changing stuff! Seriously though, GG reckons a three to four week turnaround time.

and what would postage be for this item (im guessing a lot) or would we have to go to the place for correct fitting

interested but like bok said, hard to justify paying that amount for something i cant see.

The weight of the bonnets will only be around 8 kilos, plus the packaging at say 2 or 3 kilos? Cant be too expensive to send 10 or 11 kilo package? Maybe £30 or £40?

It is a leap of faith to a certain extent. Maybe some photos of the suppliers current work would help?

DoubleG - over to you!

They would thanks good.gif

I take it these are exactly dimensioned as original using original catches, hinges, washer jet holes etc...? And no additional vents and stuff.
