I live in SE London can anyone recommend a good garage to get this all done (prefer a Ford garage) and what you think this might all set me back.
Thanks

Thanks all for the advice. Have rang Ford and a service will cost me £175 and change of Cambelt £400 including VAT. Does this sound like a good price for the Cambelt?

Mmmmm spoke to another Ford dealer and they offered £99 for the service and £350 for the cambelt. I'll check out the above section and see what I can find.

Ford cambelt kit must be used as all components are included, belt tensioner, stretch bolt etc, and a rocker cover gasket replacement is a good idea too.
Also a good idea is to buy an aux belt and get it fitted at the same time, the old one has to be removed during cambelt change, therefore you should not pay for the additional labour.

Sounds like I need to get a fair few things done then. Any idea what an aux belt and rocker cover gasket will cost me? There have also been mentions of replacing the water pump at the same time as the cam belt, this too a good idea?
From the sounds of it it might be a more sensible approach to head for an independant dealer to get a better deal on the work. Have looked through the other sections for a good mechanic in London but have yet to find one... There must be some out there...lol

Take advice from a good mechanic at a good garage, if you tell Fords that the water pump MIGHT need replacing, then they will change it, and charge you loads for it too.
