I took some lovely photos at the Highland Wildlife Park when up at my parents at the weekend and some of the Cairngorms, Black Isle etc. I would like to sharethem and I have uploaded some to photobucket but how do I get them to appear within a thread?

I tried putting it in the add file box then uploading but it went on for ten minutes without doing anything. Am I missing something obvious please?

Easiest way ...

open image in photobucket

On the bottom of the screen is the IMG code for forums.

Just copy the entire lot

and post in here

Cracking photos!

Can i may a wee suggestion?

Take them into a Photoshop or whatever you have, and play around with just the contrast. Problem with light this time of year is because the light travels through more of the atmosphere than in the summer, then the light gets washed out.

yes, suggest away! I am only just starting out and I could see in some of the owl shots that I have not put up that it was too bright and the feathers became an amorphous white blob.

I have a software thing that came with the camera so i will try that.

Thank you for the kind comments too. biggrin.gif

Remember - its the nut behind the camera that makes the picture what it is, not just the object of beauty in front wink.gif

Horizons - esp with water. Be careful, and unless you are doing a dramatic "speed" shot, water really has to be level - use rotation tool in your software.

regarding me having input into the beauty of the shot that is bad news, i was hoping the camera would do it al! laugh.gif

I have a huge book that i borrowed from a mate and it showed cropping to get water level, just hope my freebie softwarehas that function.

Was speaking to a chap with a foot long lens on his Canon 20D? who recommended trying lightbox as a reasonable piece of software.

he was eating something as I came up and then licked his lips as i took the shot!

was going for arty farty with this one!

Kyra and my Mum said i should have had the focus on the stones??

Some great shots there, why not try Gimp as a free photo editing software?

It's good to have a play around with before you buy anything?
