Interesting comparison.

Mine makes 150.5 bhp
Yours makes 143.5 but it is minus an Racing Inlet Manifold but has a ported and polished head.

Yours makes little to no more power after 6000rpm.

At 6000rpm mine is about 140bhp and continmues to climb to 150.5bhp where peak power is at 7200rpm.

Silverbullit is getting an new LMS 180 inlet fitted next weekend so will be interesting as it will be getting rolling roaded straight after it to see exact power differences.

Might be even worth getting put into wiki for future references if someone asks what difference an inlet will make to a 1700cc. It's a question that has been asked several times on this forum and would be informative to have some good hard facts so people can make their own engine performance decisions knowing exactly what to expect.

Cheers

Ally

Would be easy to add links to the threads to a wiki article.
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

check out link below. Shows your same spec then an inlet fitted and rolling road before and after. Gives you an idea what to expect.

Piper FRP stage one exhaust and a K&N panel filter.
Best was
159.7 bhp / 131 lb/ft

With 40 bhp nos jets it produced

198.8 bhp / 175.3 lb/ft

A 39 bhp increase with 40 bhp Jets, perfect
MK4 XR3i
Mk3 XR3i
R Reg 1.7 Puma
T Reg 1.7 Lux Puma
Now its Racing Puma 072
