Hi,
I've been trying to track down some oil for a 1.7 Puma today. I heard that 5w30 Part-Synthetic is the best one to get, but I could only find Halfords own brand. I've had a check online as I was after the Castrol Magnatec, but can only find that in a fully synthetic version. Does anyone know of a good place (online or otherwise) to get the part-synthetic Magnatec 5w30? How does the Halfords brand stack up in comparison if it comes down to it?

Thanks!!

I have Carlube 5w-30 semi synthetic in mine.

It came from Euro carparts, and costs much less than magnatec, but still meets the required Ford specs.

Go to quick fit and have a oil change for £29 (assume still the price?) and they used Mobile 1 fully synthetic 4.5 litres of the stuff and a new filter.
£49.99 at Halfords for the oil and about £8 for the filter.

They were going to use semi synth but I said I usually use "fully" ;)

I top up (regulalry) with the halfords stuff and haven't had any issue. As long as it meets Ford requirments I think it's all good.

But they'll also tell you that you need new disc and pads all round, new front tyres and a bag of magic beans otherwise it's going to break down tomorrow ;)
