Having partially blocked my Milltek catalytic converter, by using cheap and crappy supermarket unleaded, i was advised to try and blow it clean by using Shell Vpower petrol.

Before you all rush out and spend a fortune on Vpower, be advised that i have had my ECU updated to run the engine on this rocket fuel, waste of time otherwise.

Anyway, point is that normally on a long (100+) mile run, the ECU light came on, annoying but fixable, but i drove to Tavistock on xmas eve, did a few miles around town, then drove the 164 miles back again on Monday - and no ECU light, seems cat is beginning to behave again.

No more supermarket fuel, as Shell garage nearby sells unleaded at the same price as Sainsburys now.

Finally after around 400 miles, opposed to the usual 150, the Engine light came on again, damn good excuse to reset it and take the Kat out for a 20 mile blast. :woot: :good: ;)

No need to change ECU settings on my car. Had it rolling road tested many times and difference V Power makes, shows up on graphs and in feel when driving, without ECU mapping change..No doubt ECU mapping would help, but V Power works well without.

I used to use V Power but have now switched to Tesco99. Feels exactly the same but is cheaper.

I am sure these fuels work. My car has done 113000 and runs as smooth as ever.

I have found that bog standard Shell unleaded works as well, but BP Ultimate runs rough.

Yes, theres nothing 'ultimate' about it, apart from the price or that ultimately it doesn't work as well in the Puma as V Power does...felt like my car was limp when running on the stuff, like it had lost its mojo. V Power gives it balls and quite large ones too!

Hego sensor had gone causing engine light to come on, Hego replaced (OUCH) and light reset, wiring loom to sensors 'tidied' up too, wait n see now.
