Right since ive had the car the heater has never blown warm, i have replaced the hcv and still no change

I have done some searching and most cases are that its always hot or just has a mind of its own, mine is the opposite, always cold

Anybody able to help, oh and btw the hcv was brand new part from ford

First of all I would use this track:

- You may try to change this -> http://www.pumaspeed...l-Valve_499.jsp (skipping this because you already done)
- your thermostat is ko
- at worst your water pump is ko

(now you woulnd't be able to see your water temp very high because is still too cold outside)

just give a look if the temp go high fast anyway

Run the car for a bit first without the blower motor on, make sure it's nice and hot and test with the blower on low speed.

If you run it on 4 straight away all you are doing is cooling the water as it passes through the heat exchanger and it won't get hot.

You seen the TSB for that one? 'Owner describes a burning smell from behind the dash' or something :roflmao:

Like we should stay calm when someone reports that.

I think that is to do with the blower motor not operating at all speeds though, this one sounds water system rather than electrical - although you never know.

Big question for is whether the matrix is hot.

Is the HCV fused/relayed at all? Could also check that plug for voltage but I'm not sure what it's supposed to read.

easy way to check hcv is listen to see if it clicks when you set it halfway between hot and cold
