I've just kerbed the new alloy wheels that my boyfriend bought for our Puma! sad.gif It's not just the average scuff either - one of the spokes is marked quite badly too. I've noticed you can buy the repair paint to repair alloys......... has anyone ever tried it? If so, what is it like?
I want to know if it's worth trying to sort it myself or whether it would be better to get it professionally repaired (which seems to start from £55) or perhaps I should just buy a new one altogether for about £100?!

To complicate things further they are in a hyper-black finish (which is a kind of mirrored black finish)!

Advice much appreciated.

mmmmmmmmm - I was wondering about peopel in the Derby area who do repairs as I have also had a mishap.

Almost wish it was in the FRP. Unfortunatley not, it was the Smart and the rear wheel will be approx £500 to replace

I love Ford and their cheap parts smile.gif

Halfords do alloy repair stuff, never tried it myself, but peeps have said it's not a bad finish, good for a quick fix I guess.

You would probably just make it worse trying to do it yourself to be honest, especially with the finish you say they have. Give www.wickedwheels.co.uk a bell, they'll sort you out. I have used them and they're great. Plus they come to your house. A single wheel would be about £60 I think.

Thats all it is good for is a quick fix, the stuff starts to flake off after a couple of months and needs redoing....I think the stuff from halfords is only silver finish not black...I would get it done proper

Just read that your wheels are black. Didn't notice that before. ja_stupid.gif

Yeah, I wouldn't try to do it yourself.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I don't think I can get the paint for the the hyper-black finish. Waiting to hear from TSW! Thanks for letting me know about wicked wheels - they sound good.......... I will contact them. It's not looking too good though because one repair place locally told me they can only repair 'normal finish' alloys. Arghh! Looks like I may have to buy a new one and never drive the puma again!

Wicked Wheels can do different finishes. They do wheels like on my dad's car and they are polished metal which are very hard to repair, but they still do them.

They do colour match. Cool.

Not sure about imperial blue wheels, but panther black could look cool!

One of my fronts was quite badly scuffed around the rim when i bought the car. Since the props are so cheap from Pumabuild/speed i may as well buy a new one rather than get it repaired I guess.
