Mind you yours still aint the quickest Puma, thats already been done...

Who has the quickest Puma, and are we talking 1.7 or different engine?

To go one step further, who has the fastest road legal Puma with the following engines:

1.4 - ?
1.6 - ?
1.7 - Turby?
Other engine - Pumaspeed Cossie?

I guess these need to be proven figures (data-logged or timing gear), not "measured by my mate as he watched the speedo".

Think it would be better if...

1.4
1.6
1.7
1.7 turbo
2.0 turbo
4WD

How about an old 8 valve one in there too ;-)

Of course, thats dependent on it not catching fire....

As for spending 10K plus on an engine, why not? Its not the first 5 figure engine conversion ;-)

It would be nice to keep it simple without breaking things down to normally aspirated/turbo/super charger/NOS etc, and I still think one other category for all other engines.

I think the "other engines" can be split into a 2wd and 4wd category though, as 4wd should give a performance advantage.

So:

1.4
1.6
1.7
Other engines 2wd
Other engines 4wd

i think it should be

1.4
1.6
1.7
(the three engines that come in the puma)
Standard Turbo'd (both 1.6 and 1.7 have been done)
And non standard engine, any n/a nos turbo supercharger etc

Is there really enough non standard 2wd and 4wd pumas around to have their own sections? i think not, would be a 2 horse race if they have own sections..........

I'd go for that... it might be worthwhile having a new gallery showing dyno sheets for contenders in each of the different categories - note all cars must be road legal and have current TAX / MOT. cool2.gif

I agree, but this left Alan (Pumabuild) on an instant loss to Tony (Pumaspeed) in the non standard engine category and that didn't seem totally fair. I guess if we left the category as any non-standard engine only (2wd or 4wd), at least they could go up against each other. The Bruntingthorpe shoot-out was very close after all. smile.gif

Al best get some mods done then cool2.gif

Otherwise, it will be tony winning the 4wd and alan winning the 2wd, you might as well not have the shoot out if ppl have the groups won already?
