Has anybody fitted a alloy front pulley to there zetec ? I am keen on losing weight but not sure if it's a good idea to lose the harmonic front pulley. I have used them on 40 year old triumph spitfire race engines revving to 8000rpm no problem but they are only powering the alternator. But then engine builders retro fit harmonic pulleys on to truimph TR4 race engines so I guess it depends on the characteristics of the engine.

do you mean the bottom pulley 'vibration damper pulley'... you'd have to get a custom one made up, not sure it's really worth the faff...

Not going down the alloy front pulley route as they seem to have claimed a few oil pumps on the zetec engine.
