same here mate. I raced my mates standard 1.7 and there wasn't much differencee at all, Obviulsly he pulled away at top end due to VCT. He was shocked, I actually had my nose in front til 35mph. Alot of people mock the 1.4 before they have even driven it because they assume a 1.4 will be slow, thats BS. obvioulsy your not going to get lighting pace and it is clear the 1.7 is quicker but it isn't slow by a long shot.

In that case slap in a Unichip for 500 notes and you'd possibly hardly notice the difference.
]I'm quite the easy-going type, once you get to know me. Running with - Unichip/Kent Cams/K&N filter/Magnex Cat-Back/Magnecor leads/NGK plugs/Polybushes and Strutbrace. 156bhp last time I tried.

Doersn't the 1.4 have extra power in first gear? That might account for some of it. ja_stupid.gif

It has no torque limiter, while the 1.7 does yeah. I would imagine it would have no more power than the 1.7 in first, but I doubt it would be any less.

Yeah, torque limiter, yeah, that's what I meant. [Backs away head in hands desperately trying to blend in with the nearest wall]
