Hi I have two questions...

Does anyone know how to replace the little light in the bootlid brake light?

I took my puma to Halfords who very kindly came out to try and after having removed the trim inside, and getting his fingers caught, as well as yanking out and snapping the plastic thingy that holds the cord for the parcel shelf he finally gave up and said he couldn't do it.

My second question is about the keyfob... i'm back to the primitive sticking the key in the lock to open the car door! is it only Ford garages that can change these batteries, i tried somewhere that cuts car keys but they said you only have a small amount of time to take out and replace the battery otherwise it'll need reprogramming!!

If anyone knows how either/both of these can be sorted i'd be very grateful.... thank you

I did a post in the Wiki for this (scroll down to it). You'll need to get 2 new shelf string hanging buttons (Finis 1067548), as you lose the centre pins when you push them out. It's a time consuming job, so I would advise replacing all 4 bulbs (501, wedge) at the same time (I used LED bulbs, for their longer life).

Rick

The Haynes Fiesta Manual (3397) can answer a lot of your questions.

The original Ford Puma 3rd brakelight was found to be defective, i had mine replaced by the dealer who sold me the car.

Keyfob batteries can be replaced by yourself - if your quick - or any competant garage.

Click the Puma garages link below to see if anyone near to you can help with both problems.

Hi
I would not trust halfords to change a light bulb in my house!
Do not get me wrong. I like halfords. I get alot of stuff from them. The members of staff who do the fittings are not trained and I have lost count of the number of times that I have seen them outside working on peoples cars looking clueless and struggling!
The light is not that bad to change. mine did not work as the wire had accidentally been cut trough before I had her. Just follow Yogs link.

As for the battery I got mine from Ford. It cost me £4 and as I was in a lazy mood that day the parts assistant fitted it for me to. As long as you change the battery over quickly you will be fine.

Does anyone know what kind of battery the keyfob takes? I assume it's a button battery but there are lots of different kinds.

[EDIT] I should add that my key is the two-button kind.

Hi,

My key fob buttons are becoming unresponsive. I'm presuming its the battery going. I have three buttons on my fob for my y-reg puma. Which button battery do I need?

Thanks
Staro

I've got a three-button fob, you still need a CR2032 battery. Just bought a Duracell lithium one on eBay for about £1.80 or something, should hopefully last longer and perform better than the no-brand one I bought before.
