Is It Really Worth It A very contraversial post

dont get me wrong, i like the puma as i looked for at least 6mnths to get the right one, however, i have to question the AMOUNT you guys must spend on your cars with all these engine etc mods, plus insurance costs etc.
at the end of the day you end up with a good handling car (if your cosmetic changes dont ruin it and the handling mods are completely correctly set up) that is realtively quick compared to other 1.7 cars and fairly comfortable.
but for the amount you spend (i mean 10k for an engine transplant!) u could end up with far better kit, far better handling, far quicker machinery
all you have is a small coupe worth half what you spent on it?
like i said at the begining i do LIKE the puma and whilst it is a hoot to drive i am completely bored by its lack of pace, tiny range, etc etc. but there is NO way i would spend a further few '000 pounds getting it to a level that is still well short of kit i could buy for the same money i spend on the tweaks to my puma.

Many of us have moved on from our Pumas to other cars for the very reasons you have described, others are happy to accept them as they are and have owned them for years...some have spent much money modifying, for them their car is their hobby.
Not everything in life is logical or rational, this is just an example!

Tho having had to change an engine in the first place might have had something to do with him starting down that route
