What happens when you break a driveshaft?

Would you need to snap both of them to get complete loss of power, or is one enough? ja_stupid.gif

My question precisely.

I'd suspect unless you have an LSD you'd lose all drive, but don't know for sure.

loose all drive reading posts of people who have had one snap
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

but you'd hear a crunching noise as the ends of the drive shaft flailed around?

What were you doing just before you lost all drive? changing gear? suddenly floor it?

do any other gears work apart form first? reverse even?

come up and see me...make me smile

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand - strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO -What a Ride!:D

That's pretty unlikely, it must be said.
