I know Elvin has put a "for Sale" sign up, but surely it would be a little bit more polite to find out what Tony can do with the car as it is before the vulturs stop circling and come down to peck over the remains...

Does seem somewhat distasteful

I've known relatives start clearing their loved ones flats as soon as we diagnose a cancer, regardless that they've got a reasonable chance of a long life or potential cure

Yep, sadly all too true, I can remember my great uncle dying in 1982, I think he was still warm when his siblings started fighting over his few possessions.
New car, caviar, four star daydream, think I'll buy me a football team.

Exactly Rach. I did actually give this some thought before posting on the thread in question: but decided that since Elvin had asked for offer I'd flap my wings and get a-circling.

As I understood it the thread was Elvin selling off what spares he had to try to fund either the possible repair or replacement depending on what Tony said.

Perhaps I was wrong ja_stupid.gif

Given that

1. Elvin had not seen the car since the crash

2. Tony had not seen the car

3. The shock of it would still be coming out

I can understand Elvins wishes initially to get rid of it, and hence his post. I just find it all a bit gruesome that people would wade in quite so fast, given no real assessment of the damage had taken place, and the guy was obviously not anywhere over the initial shock of the incident

I know what you are saying Maatt, but at least Elvin knows that there are people who will help him recover something from the remains of the car if it is beyond repair.

I do know what you mean, but Elvin has started the thread and he must be willing to go down this route to try and offset some of his costs.

Personally I can't imagine that the repairs will be cheap and a young person who has not been in paid employment very long will struggle to cover the costs.

At least he is trying to consider all outcomes of the situation and guaging people's interest in buying parts may influence his decision eventually.
