stumbled across this lot on ebay, seemed quite interesting but as the seller says will be pretty heavy

And actually not that good now. Lighting technology has moved on a pace. Even 8 years ago I had built a mock up using 4 projector spots that was going to be lighter...

Designed and used primarily for motorsport, rallying in particular.

youve not seen many rally cars then Jamie?? laugh.gif Such pods are used extensively on rally cars for night stages.

How much extra was that compared to magnums glassfibre price?? might ask if they will do carbon bumper pods!!!

If its carbon fibre backed with csm (chopped strand matting) and is of course wet lay up, no weight saving at all, very little strength added, but does look better.

Only time carbon is lighter/stronger is when its vacuum resisn infused or pre-preg.

You could argue about the weight/strength when using expoxy, but its still wet lay up.

For me, grp is alot cheaper, nearly same weight, nearly as strong.

Got the pods of ebay about 3 year ago, so dont know how much they would be new.

Didn't the earlier mitsubishi Evos have something similar as standard,not necessarily in pods that were protruding as far, but big lights toards the corners of the front bumper?
