My puma has just passed its m.o.t but there is a slight leak on the rear silencer....what does this exactly mean? I know its something to do with the exhaust. Do i need to get it fixed quickly , is it expensive, will petrol consumption or performance be affected ? :help:

Standard back box costs usually around £80.
If the hole gets bigger you will begin to notice increased noise and a drop in power=more fuel consumption.
Some may recommend a nice big shiny stainless steel back box but be aware of the increased noise (especially motorway boominess=headaches) and possible drop in engine torque at low revs, both of which reduce driveabilty and fuel consumption.
Stick with an original one if you want less noise, more torque and better fuel economy.
