Hi all,

I'm a newbie from Doncaster having just bought Scottland's Puma 1.7.

Have noticed a few issues:

1) A loud ticking from the cylinder head near the cam pullies - Do these engines use hydraulic lifters or shims? And do the valve clearances need to be manually adjusted?

2) Belt whining noise - As the Cam belt has ben changed recently, suspect that it may be the aux belt

3) O/S/F Lower Suspension Creaking noise when turning - Worn bushes?

Would appreciate any advice on the issues noted above.

Also, great forum!! biggrin.gif

Hi, welcome to the madhouse crazy.gif biggrin.gif

Worn bushes are common in Pumas, now they are all 5+ years old. Sorry I can't help more than that!

Ticking noise may be belt tensioner = fatal to engine if that goes.
Aux belt should be replaced at same time as cambelt - although its not a requirement.
