Firstly can I say hello pumapeople and thank you for letting me join. I have a silver 1.4 T Reg Puma which I adore and would love to keep on the road, shes done 150K and is positively rust free however the tin cancer wont stay away much longer if I dont get a leak sorted soon.
I bought the car at the start of the wettest winter on record, the previous owner kept her under a carport and there were no signs she leaked like turning on bath taps inside. Got the car home, 2 days of heavy rain and I had about 2 inches of water in the passenger floor well.
I looked online and saw this is quite a common thing, I checked the area suggested and the big wiring loom grommett was covered in sealant. I decided to take it to a local body shop here in Crewkerne, South Somerset..She has now been in the said body shop on about 8 occasions, sometimes for 2 days at a time. Under and around the pollen filter has been sealed. a new door seal has been fitted, then the biggy, the windscreen. It was suggested a new screen had been fitted on one occasion and not very well hence the leak, so that was changed, the windscreen guy said it did leak there but that wasnt the full story and suggested all down the inner wing was sealed? it went back to the body shop who say they did this but i have no proof. The car still leaks but not so bad but the carpet still gets wet although i dont have to bale out 20 or so beakers of water. I phoned the body shop just to say after heavy rain again this weekend it still leaks. They have now informed me the goodwill is gone and will now start charging everytime it goes in even though they have failed to stop it leaking. I just told him it wont be going back because why would i pay a company who have so far failed to do the job I asked of them, so Puma people i ts over to you! Does anyone know anyone who is shit hot on sorting leaky pumas, does anyone on here live local and have the knowledge I dont have and who might try and help me get a dry car? I really do need help, so please anyone if you can help please get in touch with me. Many thanks guys. Posted Image/>

I'd start by taking the carpet back under the dash and spraying the car with a hose to see if you can see any ingress.

Usual places look to have all been done.

If that doesn't yield any clues then ideally have the dash out and do it again although that's not a job for the faint hearted.

Hi
There is a water water everywhere article in the wiki detailing loads of water leak potential points.

searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

You have my sympathy.
It sounds like your only course of action now is what Ian G has suggested.
What you could do in the meantime is do what I did on my son's car. Lift up the carpet and cut out all the sound deadening stuff which by now will probably be very smelly anyway. Remove the plastic bungs from the floor panel then at least the water can go somewhere. I also try keep a check on the weather and if it's going to chuck it down I stick an old towel in under the carpet then take it out when it's stopped.
Also on dry sunny days if you can, leave the windows open to help dry everything out again.
If it's any consolation ,Pumas are not the only cars that suffer the swimming pool syndrome, do you know any classic Mini owners?Posted Image
