Evening,

I've just been reading up on chips for the 1.7 puma. Apparantly for 299 squid i can have an extra 12bhp which dosent seem to bad really.

Has anyone got one or know of anyone that can tell me if it's worth the money or not.

What advantages/disadvantages are there if any?

Well the website if anyone is interested is www.superchips.co.uk/bluefin

Thanks

searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

12 BHP ? sounds good...

I will give anyone 10 BHP extra for free by following these simple steps.

1) Do a power run on a rolling road in 5th gear.
2) Inflate front tyres to 45 psi.
3) Do another power run, but this time in 3rd gear.

There you go... an instant increase in power smile.gif

...a Super chip doesnt really boost the top end power of the Puma much, 2 to 3 hp more maybe. In fact Superchips really just make cars more 'driveable'.

I had a Superchip before my Unichip and yes it does make the car more fun to drive but you wont get anything like the power hike they claim. They mainly boost the torque thoughout the power band, hence the fun factor. Dotting the i's and crossing the t's if you like.

Worth the money...yes. Just dont expect miracles.
