For people wanting to sell there car that have a negative attitude because the potential buyer ask questions about the car and refusing point blank to let the potential buyer ask questions over the phone. And then asking the potential buyer to put a price on a car they know nothing about don't expect the potential buyer to view the car or indeed put a price on the car they would buy it for.

In the real world, especially people that don't live local buyers like myself want to know as much as possible about the car and the history of the car before viewing. it's not too much to ask.

LOL trublustu you're nuts. Yes it's ridiculous really isn't it, how hard is it to answer questions what does a seller expect you just to phone up ask how much you want gives a price and say yes ok i'll buy the car? doesn't work like that

You do wonder whether some people actually want to sell their cars.
Its probably that there is a "story" behind the vehicle which would see any sensible buyer run a mile.
Unless its FRP0001 or some other ultra-desirable motor, move on.
Fish in sea seems apt...

You may be right what you are saying there you do wonder if they want to sell their cars.
It could well be a good example but he's just fed up with people asking questions all the time and not getting a buyer for the car but still no excuse if he has no interest in keeping it.. maybe thats just the way he is and just treats them all the same.

If someone phoned me up interested in buying my car they can ask as much questions as they like regarding the car makes no difference. I would expect that. That's the sort of things you have to deal with if you want to sell your car patience is key.
If you want to win the buyer over they need let buyer asks questions for a start even if it's standard or stupid or whatever. There is genuine buyers out there. Every buyer has their own style on how to going about it. I stay in Scotland and he stayed close to london there is no way I am driving all the way down there to waste my time askings questions down there that I don't want to hear the answers to potentially when he can give me information over the phone. and save me the bother of disappointment.

When I called the guy up as soon as I mentioned about the FRP he was mumbling and huffing and puffing like he just wasn't interested in selling it.

it's sort of standard questions I was asking only got to the 3rd one and he spat the dummy out no need. the potential buyer is entitled to ask and it could be he has answered them before and it's put the buyer off if there is a problem any good car buyer will found out sooner or later.

It could be that he has poor social skills (idiot)

Or just that the car has issues,
so rather than lie he would rather a buyer who is a bit wet behind the ears comes and snaps up said car with rose coloured specks...

There are always FRPs up for sale, you need an "enthusiast" owner who can tell you about every nut and bolt.
with a car like this a dog would be a really bad buy....

Works both ways guys and gals when I had V4 up for sale I had a very enthusiastic foreign purchaser who asked all the right questions, had all the honest answers and reached the stage of talking money. Price I considered from conversations to have been agreed till I mentioned the thought of a deposit at which point the disappearing act was miraculous. Have to say though I'm really pleased V4 didn't emigrate as he looks very content in the company of 462 and his Elise friend.

Yes well as you have experienced and as I have already said it can happen either way but doesn't mean the seller has to take it out on other people if he or she has had bad experience from previous potential buyers. I get where you are coming from though. a bit of a shame it happened the other way about with you.

Yes it was a shame on one hand but on the other V4 still lives here. No point either in slagging off a potential buyer these things happen, circumstances change for both buyers and sellers. As you initially said however it is difficult to understand how anyone can advertise a car for sale and then not be enthusiastic in giving all information requested by a potential buyer.

found out the guy I spoke to was actually selling the car on behalf of someone and the original owner had to remove him from selling his car as there where too many complaints made against him. One slipped through my fingers there. The car is now sold.
