Hi all,

Im interested in purchasing a racing puma and was wondering what the average mileage is/should be?

When looking at adverts for FRPs the mileage ranges from 40k - 70k.

Just wondered if someone could give me a heads up.

Thanks in advance,

Edward

unfortunately... this is one of those 'how long is a piece of string' questions!

If I were in the market for an FRP at the mo, I have to say that mileage wouldn't necessarily come into it tho - I'd be much more interested in the service history and overall condition of the car wink.gif

oh - mine has 66k on it btw!

'Average' would be around 10k a year I'd say, so for a 7 year old car about 70k would be average.

However, alot of FRP's are used as 2nd cars, and the odd one or two seem to have very few miles on at all.

As pusscat says the mileage on an FRP should not necessarily be the governing factor when looking to buy. A trawl through this site will give an indication of the service items that should be looked out for. A well serviced and updated car would probably be a better buy than a very low mileage car which has not had, brakes Cambelt and exhaust system updated.

could start seeing problems and could be costly

as long as its well looked after milage shouldnt be a issue
when i got 134 it only had 31k on the clock (got it in 06) and it needed a hell of alot of work doing to it and its still not right yet

Id buy on condition not mileage. I ended up buying one with 50k which drives perfectly and is in great condition biggrin.gif

I've had #52 2.5 years and bought her with 29k on the clock. She now has 52k and apart from a hesitation problem at the moment (see my other thread!) is very sweet and i love her to bits even though i use her for work every day and all weekend too

I bought 291 with 45K on the clock. saw one with 40K, but in far far worse condition. I really wouldnt worry about mileage, more whether cambelt/major or regular servicing/brakes + disks etc had been done, and the general condition of the car. A couple of the ones I saw before buying 291 were real dogs sad.gif
