Just found this forum and I like it.

Ive owned my 1.7 Puma for 3 years now, I used to work for Ford Motor Company and in the 3 years Ive owned my Puma Ive had a lot of problems with it, ie misting rear and front lights, worn gear box linkcage
at 25k, windows not aligning when shutting. Even with the probs Ive still kept the car as its a great drive.

Most of my problems have occurred out of warrenty (only got 1 year). However if you have any of the problems of misting lights and gear box linkages or anything else that you think is a Ford fault and you are outside of warrenty call the Ford Customer Assistance centre number which is

0845 8411111

By ringing the Ford Customer Assistance centre (CAC) I have managed to get at least 75% off the cost of the following work OUTSIDE OF WARRENTY !

1) Replace rear lights due to misting
2) Replace front lights due to misting
3) Replace worn gear linkage
4) Repair poor paint work on bottom of doors

Must of saved myself at least £600.

Importantly in all conversations with CAC I mention 'I am a member of a Pumas owner club' and have seen other cars with the same problem blah..blah and Im sure that helps.

It works a treat Ive not even had to try and CAC just ring the delear then CAC ring me and agree to pay towards the work as a good will gesture.

When I worked for Ford CAC was crap (excuse the pun), but in the last 12 months as Ford has refocused it customer service CAC is now good. In the eyes of Ford they want to retain your custom, to them paying 75% of a bill for example £100 is nothing if it retains your custom.

In my view you need to explote the fact Ford are being so generous, the bottom line in my opionion is Ford made the car with the faults in the first place and therefore should sort it.

Anyway I hope I save you all some money and remeber if you dont ask you dont get.
