My poor beloved puma is slowly being eaten by the corrosion monsters! It's an 02 plate Thunder I've owned from new. Only 47k on the clock and mint except underneath. Was really clean a year ago, but I think 2 harsh winters have taken it's toll:
Floor pans knackered everywhere, just had 2 small holes welded. Sills heavily corroded. Heat shield is held on by cable ties as that's rusted away.
Question - do I just keep bodging away, bit by bit? Patch it up when I have to. I don't have the cash to put a whole new floor in! What do I need to keep an eye on or be concerned about..? Thanks :-(

Keep bodging the serious bits, but when you'r done, treat the whole underside whit something anty corosive, to stop further growth :)

Thanks Again Cartman. It's had a seriously good scrub with a wire brush and coating applied. Not really sure how much difference that stuff makes. Wish I'd done that years ago now. Might have helped..?

No problem :)

If it had been sealed earlyer, then yes, you might have gotten away wiht most of your corrent rust problems :) but stil, they rust from the i side out to :)

Did the same to mine last fall, scrubed it down, and aplyed some hammerite :) seems to have held up nice :) stil, it pops up in new spots all the time, so it's an ongoing battle :)

I guess it's a battle I'll have to live with! :-)
