So you get 240 miles when the Warning light comes on, ie when there is next to no fuel in the tank? So my estimate of 300 miles for a full tank means my Puma is drinking petrol like an alcoholic?

I get 200 when the light comes on, then an additional 40 from there

250-300 per tank is the norm for everyday driving.
Puma fuel tank is the same 40+ litre tank as a Fiesta.

The bang was not caused by you hitting a pothole was it??
I get 200 when the light comes on, then an additional 40 from there
So 300 miles would be about right then.

people that drive like grannies get anything from 280-350 some saying they have reached 400 which i do doubt
but most people seem to get between 220 and 300.
in the frp i get about 200-230 everytime motorway driving and about 160-180 all town driving but i have got a lead foot.
by the way once your light comes on you still have one gallon left so you will easy get 25 miles from when the light comes on and if drove very sensibly upto 35-40.

The petrol needles are the least scientific thing on the car! One of my cars costs £60 to fill up and reads 3/4 full after about 20 miles. 20 miles for £15!, um not really!!! I trust the light thought and (although I don't know for Puma) many cars petrol lights come on around 8-10 lts. Somewhere between 30 and 60 miles dependant.

301 on the last tank before light came on, but was driving like spens
259 before light came on this tank this morning - but that was normal having a wee bit of fun driving.
230 if i razzle it all tank.
Everyones driving style is different as well as the driving conditions so nothing is gospel.

Now the Puma will be clocking up the miles (30 miles to work, 30 miles back = 300 miles a week). I worked out that I have to use one tank of petrol a week, because I can't afford anymore. It's a mix of town driving, stop and start driving and country road/single carriageway driving.
I try and drive really, really economically. I stick at around 55-60mph, but sometimes it can drop to 50 or even 40 if I get stuck behind trucks or slow moving traffic. But for once I don't mind, because it saves fuel. Hehe.
Nice gear changes, no revs above 2500 rpm, slow acceleration, anticipation, careful braking, and a little bit of coasting here and there.
I was amazed

On average I go 27,5 mpg.. so on average I go only 290 miles per tank.... (but okay... I like hard accelerations sometimes... )
My max on a tank was 35,19 mpg... so.. hang on... 372 miles on a tank.... (remember that trip.. went EXTREMELY slow in high gears.. hehe..)
My lowest 22,8 mpg... about 241 on a tank..
Anyways.. about 300 miles is a pretty good guess, I believe...
Hope it helped...
Cheers - LL

Actually, out of interest, has anyone converted the Puma to run on autogas? If so what is the weight, performance and mileage like?

naa.. used the measures from my good old calculator.... 1 gal = 3,785 L... and 1 mile = 1,62 km...
How much is an american litre...??
