Dear all, bought a 2000 Puma last night (60k on the clock). Needed a bit a change from the usual run of the mill stuff. Fabulous little car! My questions are;

Brakes are wooden, can they be improved with better pads? They don't have the bite I am used to.

I'm really tall, can I get the seat to go any lower?

When is the cambelt due?

What are my options for speakers off the oe stereo? Can I get more bass from installing better speakers in the doors? Don't like bass boxes or amps ect. Or just replacing the stereo maybe?

Thanks in advance, Tom.

Hi, glad to hear of another new owner hope u enjoy the car!! Im 6ft4 and have no problems with driving there should be a lever on the right hand side next to ur seat which enables the seat to go up or down.
The cambelt needs changing every 80,000 miles or 5 years which ever one occurs first.

Welcome from a fellow silver puma owner! :)

Regarding the bass question, I'm not sure if the speakers I have are standard (I haven't checked) but they certainly seem very capable! I suspect they may indeed be aftermarket ones as I am rather into my music so the quality of playback is very important!

I assume you have turned the bass etc up on the head unit?
