hey all!

Iïve started wondering of a rrrring sound that comes only at 2000rpm, any gear. It can be heard at 2000rpm if a there is a little throtle on, if I accelerate over the 2000rpm only a fast rrrr hears at 2000rpm.

Anyone got an idea what it could be? Any known spots in the puma for this kinda prob?

regards,
Toni

do you think it might be a vibration? perhaps something is loose like your heat shield?
searching is fruitful | I'm a sponge not a mechanic | please do try that if stuck with a Puma problem whilst waiting for a reply | For the Puma fan this read 'The Inside Story Book' is very nice to own sometimes still seen for sale

It might be, havenït checked that close yet. But it doesnït sound like heat shields loose, it appears just at 2krpm.

But I started thinking it could be a noise from the air filter, as I have a pipercross cone type filter. Gonna try the orginial filter at some time.

By the way, made a new exhaust today, a catback. With non rusting pipes and a couple of silencer, sound good, quiet enough for my taste but roars when needed smile.gif

I think i may be having the same problem like you, there is a rattling sound at around 2000rpm coming from under the bonnet and its driving me crazy. Do you get the sound when setting off, and also does it disappear when you go over 2000rpm as i've found that mine does but if i'm driving steady along it makes a right racket. I am going to a Ford dealer in a couple of days to see what they say. have you heard nything about your little noise?
