That is a real shame, I have heard him on Radio2 interviews recently and he came accross as a lovely guy!

Victim of the "right on" brigade that invaded TV production studios in the 90's and decided that family entertainment was so last year, and binned variety.

Shame, because the brain that powered the body was very very clever. Must have been hard to get to grips with being booted off TV just because you were so popular.
